45-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Dies after Jaywalking near South 6th Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (October 27, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian died following a crash near East 22nd Street and South 6th Avenue.

On October 22, a 45-year-old male pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing 22nd Street against a traffic light.

Furthermore, Public Information Officer Francisco Magos stated that the vehicle headed eastbound and was unable to slow down.

Consequently, the first responders arrived at the scene and transported the man to Banner University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

Moreover, the 22-year-old female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and authorities evaluated her. She showed no signs of being impaired.

Meanwhile, no charges or citations were filed against the driver, and the TPD is handling the investigation.
