Three Hospitalized after Fed-Ex Truck Crashes into Home near McKellips Road

TEMPE, AZ (October 27, 2023) – Monday afternoon, three victims sustained injuries when a truck crashed into a home on College Avenue.

Dispatchers received calls in the area around 2:00 p.m., near McKellips Road on October 23rd.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle attempted to make a U-turn in front of the Fed-Ex truck. The truck driver swerved in attempt to avoid the vehicle, causing the driver the fall out of the vehicle.

The Fed-Ex truck then continued traveling before striking another vehicle and coming to rest in front of a nearby home.

Following preliminary duties, officers cited the driver who made an unsafe U-turn for not wearing a seatbelt. In addition, police determined that impairment did not play a factor.

The Tempe Fire Medical Rescue and Scottsdale Fire responded to the scene and transported three injured victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
