David Medrano and Maxton Steel Winkler Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Loop 338 [Ector County, TX]
Two Drivers Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Auto Collision on Mile Marker 266
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (October 24, 2023) – Tuesday morning, David Medrano and Maxton Steel Winkler died in a wrong-way crash.
The incident occurred on Loop 338 near mile marker 226 on October 10th around 6:45 a.m.
Per reports, 44-year-old Medrano was driving a 2019 Ford F-250 north and veered off the southbound lanes. There, the Ford struck a 2021 Chevrolet 2500, driven by 33-year-old Winkler.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Medrano and Winkler dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
