Douglas McIntire Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 152 [Merced County, CA]
59-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Gonzaga Road
MERCED COUNTY, CA (October 24, 2023) – Sunday night, Douglas McIntire was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on Highway 152.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Gonzaga Road.
For reasons under investigation, the rider of a 2022 Honda motorcycle struck a wooden construction closure sign while attempting to exit the highway.
The motorcyclist then lost control and struck the rear attenuator of a 2013 Freightliner resting on the on-ramp.
First responders declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. He was later identified as 59-year-old McIntire, of Los Banos.
At this time, police are still working to determine if drugs and alcohol contributed to the fatal crash. Those with additional information are urged to contact local authorities as soon as possible.
