Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Collision near 180 Freeway

MISSION HILLS, CA (October 25, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one man was killed in a red-light motorcycle crash on Chatsworth Street.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m., near the Ronald Reagan (180) Freeway. 

According to police, the driver of a southbound dark-colored sedan traveled through a red light on Chatsworth Drive. The sedan then turned east on Chatsworth Street where it struck a westbound motorcyclist.

Upon impact, the driver failed to render aid and immediately fled the scene. 

Responding paramedics transported the rider to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities only described the deceased victim as a 40 to 45-year-old man.

At this time, the city of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can lead the authorities to the arrest of the suspect. Those with additional information regarding the Chatsworth Street hit-and-run can contact Officer Freeman at 818-644-8115.
