One Woman Lost Her Life in Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2661

SMITH COUNTY, TX (October 23, 2023) – on Sunday evening, Danica L Maclin died after a car collision on Highway 155 South.

Around 9:05 p.m. on October 1st at Hwy 155 South near FM 2661, the fatal accident happened.

According to Texas DPS, a Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by 36-year-old Danica L. Maclin, was heading south when she lost control, drove to the northbound lane, and then hit 2024 Freightliner truck tractor towing a 2013 Polar Semi-Trailer. Maclin got thrown off from her seat.

The driver of the vehicle remained unscathed, and authorities declared Maclin dead on the spot. Maclin had been driving without a seatbelt, police said.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. The Highway has since been reopened.

No further information was released by the authorities.
