Jade Pedro, Roberto Pedro Dead after DUI Crash near 40th Street [Phoenix, AZ]
DUI Accident near Van Buren Street Left 2 Fatalities
PHOENIX, AZ (October 23, 2023) – On Monday morning, Jade Pedro and Roberto Pedro died following a DUI crash near 40th Street.
It occurred near the area of 40th and Van Buren Streets just after 7:00 a.m., October 16th.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, a white passenger vehicle was occupied by three people, the driver was identified as 49-year-old Roberto Pedro and a passenger was named 19-year-old Jade Pedro.
Furthermore, the authorities learned that a gray SUV ran over a red light at the intersection heading eastbound on Loop 202 freeway access road.
As a result, the driver crashed into the white vehicle traveling northbound on 40th Street. Unfortunately, Jade was pronounced dead at the scene.
Consequently, the paramedics transported Roberto, the other passenger, and the driver of the SUV to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, Roberto succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced dead on October 18th.
Moreover, the police determined impairment as a factor in the incident. It was unknown at this time if the driver was taken into custody. Further investigation is still active.
