James Janda Dies in 2-Vehicle Accident on State Route 20 [Skagit County, WA]
17-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Mile Post 93
SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (October 17, 2023) – Monday afternoon, James Janda was killed in a 2-vehicle accident on State Route 20.
Police responded to the scene around 3:15 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Mile Post 93 on October 9th.
According to reports, 17-year-old Janda was driving a 1993 Honda Accord east and crossed over the center line into the eastbound lanes. There, the Honda struck a westbound 2022 GMC Yukon with three occupants.
Medics arrived and transported a 37-year-old female occupant of the Yukon to United General Hospital for treatment. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced Janda dead.
Following preliminary duties, authorities stated that alcohol or drugs were not a factor. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
