Man Dies in Motorcycle Collision on Willow Street [Long Beach, CA]
63-Year-Old Male Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Crash near Palo Verde Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (October 17, 2023) – Late Saturday afternoon, a man was fatally injured in a motorcycle collision on Willow Street.
The incident happened around 5:35 p.m. at Willow Street and Palo Verde Avenue.
Per reports, the rider of an eastbound 2019 Nissan Sentra failed to yield to traffic and turned north onto Palo Verde Avenue.
As a result, the Nissan struck a 2021 Harley Davidson that was heading west on Willow Street.
Upon impact, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle onto the road. Paramedics arrived and transported the male motorcyclist to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased rider once available.
Meanwhile, the 63-year-old Long Beach man driving the Nissan stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time, police suspect that speed and distracted driving were factors.
