Pedestrian Collision near Interstate 19 Killed One 41-Year-Old Woman

TUCSON, AZ (October 9, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, police responded to a pedestrian crash that claimed the life of Adriana Patricia Mada.

It happened at West Valencia Road on the Interstate 19 overpass around 4:30 a.m., on September 26th.

According to the Tucson Police Department, they arrived at the scene and found 41-year-old Adriana Patricia Mada on the highway with serious injuries.

The first responders attempted to save the life of Mada but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and died.

Furthermore, the investigation showed that the vehicle involved was traveling northbound on I-19. Mada crossed against a red light and was struck by the car turning left on Valencia Road.

Moreover, the driver failed to remain at the scene, and the authorities have not yet obtained any details. In addition, the vehicle was believed to be a dark-colored pickup truck.

Consequently, the authorities stated that Mada crossing against a red light was a factor, but they are looking into the suspect leaving the scene.

Meanwhile, the authorities have yet to release the additional details, and witnesses may contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
