Jose Neri Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on South Stanislaus Street [Stockton, CA]
Three-Car Collision near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Left One Fatality
STOCKTON, CA (October 4, 2023) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash on South Stanislaus Street Sunday night led to the arrest of Jose Neri.
Police responded to the collision around 10:28 p.m. at S. Stanislaus St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
According to the police, at least three vehicles were discovered in the wreckage. However, the circumstances that led up to the collision remain unclear.
Responding medical personnel declared one of the drivers dead at the scene. Police only identified the deceased driver as a man in his 40s, believed to be driving alone at the time.
Additionally, two people were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday, authorities booked one of the drivers – 24-year-old Jose Neri – to jail for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
No other information about the fatal DUI accident is available at this time, authorities will post updates as they become available to the public.
