Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash near Meridian Avenue Resulted in Fatality
SAN JOSE, CA (September 29, 2023) – Monday morning, a pedestrian-auto collision on Willow Street in San Jose claimed the life of one person.
The deadly collision happened around 6:20 a.m. near Willow Street and Meridian Avenue in the Willow Glen neighborhood.
Based on the report, a vehicle traveling through a green light hit an adult male pedestrian along the southbound Meridian.
The pedestrian appeared to have been walking against a solid red light on a crosswalk, according to Officer Steve Aponte.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. However, his identity has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
