One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Highway 71 [Bastrop, TX]
Car vs. Truck Crash on FM 304 Left One Driver Dead
BASTROP, TX (September 29, 2023) – A driver died early Friday morning after a multi-vehicle collision at State Highway 71.
The fatal accident happened around 1:15 a.m. on September 22nd, on SH 71 and FM 304.
According to the authorities, a 2012 Ford Fusion suddenly broke down while westbound on SH 71. The 18-wheeler truck behind hit the Ford Fusion from behind.
The driver of the Ford Fusion was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, while the truck driver sustained minor injuries.
In addition, another car was involved, and the driver suffered minor injuries.
The driver’s identity was withheld until his next of kin was notified. Information about the other two drivers remains undisclosed.
At this time, authorities are conducting an active investigation of the crash and will release additional information once available.
