Chain-Reaction Collision Claimed Four Lives, Injured Two on Berry Street

FORT WORTH, TX (September 29, 2023) – Monday night, Susan Longoria, Chase Mapes, Kiara Baker, and Jasmine Jones died in a crash.

Police responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 between Berry and Felix Street on September 11th.

The incident began when a minor collision between two vehicles occurred. In order to assist the two cars involved in the small collision, a truck driver also stopped and partially blocked the road. The driver of an 18-wheeler then crashed into the vehicles, causing a chain-reaction accident.

Four people who lost their lives were identified as 31-year-old Longoria, 25-year-old Mapes, and 23-year-old Baker. Three of them died at the scene while 21-year-old Jones, died at the hospital.

Two more unidentified victims suffered injuries and were treated at a hospital. Following preliminary duties, authorities ruled out alcohol and weather as potential reasons for the accident.
