64-Year-Old Man Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Lucille Street
SEATTLE, WA (September 28, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on 1st Street South.
Around 5:30 a.m., police responded to the scene near Lucille Street after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
Investigators say the male driver of a vehicle struck a female pedestrian in the area. However, it is unclear whether or not the woman was within a marked crosswalk.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the female victim dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.
Following preliminary duties, officers say the driver showed signs of impairment and consequently arrested the 64-year-old man under investigation of vehicular homicide.
