SUV Versus Pedestrian Collision Near Speer Drive Kills 46-Year-Old Man

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (September 27, 2023) – Sunday night, a pedestrian accident on Beach Boulevard fatally injures Gerardo Granados.

The deadly collision happened around 10:00 p.m., just north of Speer Drive and south of Slater Avenue. 

According to the police, a southbound gray 2003 Lincoln Navigator hit the pedestrian for reasons under investigation. 

Responding emergency personnel transported the victim to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the Lincoln driver, identified to be a 33-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. 

Later, authorities identified the deceased male pedestrian as 46-year-old Gerardo Granados of Huntington Beach. 

The investigation is currently being led by the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team. Anyone who witnessed the fatal incident is urged to contact traffic investigator Rattanchandani at 714-536-5231.
