Man and Woman Pronounced Dead after Back to Back Incidents near North Sylvania Avenue

FORT WORTH, TX (September 27, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Meagan Roiter and Robert Ahart died in hit-and-run collisions.

The first crash happened around 12:15 a.m., at Airport Freeway and North Sylvania Avenue.

According to the police, a driver hit another vehicle in the area and fled the scene on foot before the officers arrived. 

Crews arrived and declared a woman dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified her as 30-year-old Meagan Roiter. 

Meanwhile, two other occupants inside the vehicle that was struck sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

At around 12:45 a.m., a pedestrian was also hit at South Riverside Drive and Glen Garden Drive. Responding officers discovered the victim’s unconscious body lying on the street. Medical responders declared 59-year-old Robert Ahart dead at the scene, due to multiple blunt-force injuries. 

At this time, Fort Worth officials have made no arrests from both incidents. Those with additional information are urged to contact local authorities immediately.
