Pedestrian Collision near Pacific Heights Boulevard Kills 57-Year-Old Woman

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 22, 2023) – Wednesday evening, a woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on Mira Mesa Boulevard.

The collision happened around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Pacific Heights Boulevard. 

Based on the initial investigation, a woman walking in a southerly direction on Pacific Heights crossed the street at a red light. 

There, the woman was struck by a 40-year-old man driving a 2016 Chrysler Pacifica van traveling east on Mira Mesa.

First responders to the accident declared the female pedestrian deceased at the scene. However, her identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

Officials closed down both directions of the roadway between Lusk Boulevard and the Sequence Drive and Huennekens Street intersection. The SDPD Traffic Division is leading the investigation.
