Jesus Munoz Arrested, 2 Dead after Head-On DUI Crash on State Route 76 [San Diego, CA]
65-Year-Old Man and 59-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Pala Mission Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 21, 2023) – Wednesday, police arrested Jesus Munoz after a fatal head-on DUI crash on State Route 76.
Just after midnight, police received dispatch calls near Pala Mission Road and the Pala Casino.
For reasons unknown, the driver of an eastbound maroon Nissan Xterra crossed into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Nissan collided head-on with a white Toyota RAV4 SUV in the westbound lanes.
Medics arrived and pronounced the 65-year-old male driver of the Toyota and his 59-year-old female passenger dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Nissan driver to a local hospital for significant but non-life-threatening injuries. In addition, the San Diego Humane Society responded at the scene to extricate a Pitbull dog trapped inside the Nissan.
Following preliminary duties, authorities arrested the Nissan driver, 43-year-old Jesus Munoz, for suspected DUI and homicide-related charges.
