Riders Injured, 3 Hospitalized after Being Sideswiped by RV

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (September 14, 2023) – On Saturday morning, Dane Wallace and six other cyclists were injured following an RV collision.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., August 26th, on Lake Mary Road, involving multiple cyclists and an RV per initial reports.

According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, the cyclist participated in a weekly community bicycle ride when the RV sideswiped Dane Wallace which caused another cyclist to follow and caused a pileup.

Furthermore, the collision resulted in seven injuries, and three cyclists were transported to the hospital.

Wallace and one other cyclist required surgery due to the collision. Moreover, the RV driver remained at the scene while officers cited him for failing to give the cyclists enough room.
