Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash on Sebastopol Road [Santa Rosa, CA]
Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Dutton Avenue Left One Fatality
SANTA ROSA, CA (September 8, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a traffic crash on Sebastopol Road took the life of a male pedestrian.
The fatal collision happened around 12:05 p.m. at the 500 block of Sebastopol Road, west of Dutton Avenue in Roseland.
Based on the initial investigation, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup hit a man walking outside of a marked crosswalk.
Responding medical personnel transported the man – only identified to be in his 30s – to a hospital. At around 12:45 p.m., the unidentified victim succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the 70-year-old pickup driver from Santa Rosa stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
In the end, the police closed Sebastopol Road between Dutton and Avalon avenues for at least two hours as crews cleared the scene.
