Two-Vehicle Collision Near Magnolia Boulevard Kills 24-Year-Old Saugus Woman

BURBANK, CA (September 7, 2023) – A two-vehicle crash caused by a speeding vehicle on Victory Boulevard Sunday afternoon claimed the life of Evonnie Nicole Caceres. 

Officers responded to reports of the collision around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Victory and Magnolia Boulevard.

Upon arrival, the first responders discovered two vehicles at the wreckage with one person in need of extrication. 

Based on the initial investigation, a white Dodge Challenger attempted to speed through the intersection. As a result, the Dodge collided with a black Nissan SUV making a left eastbound turn, sending the Challenger to hit a curb and traffic signal pole. 

Paramedics rushed the female Dodge passenger to Holy Cross Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Later, authorities identified the deceased victim as 24-year-old Evonnie Nicole Caceres of Saugus. 

The Dodge driver was also transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the uninjured Nissan driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. 

A bystander who was hit by flying debris from the crash was hospitalized for non-serious injuries.
