Traffic Collision near Ashlan Avenue Offramp Left One Fatality
FRESNO, CA (September 6, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a female driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 168 in East Central Fresno.
The deadly collision happened around 3:00 a.m. along eastbound Highway 168, near Ashland Avenue off-ramp.
According to the report, a man in a Dodge Charger lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. As a result, the Dodge crashed into a Nissan Altima, pinning both drivers in their vehicles.
The impact of the crash also sent both vehicles into the center median, with the Nissan overturned on its roof.
Responding emergency personnel transported the 37-year-old female Nissan driver from Clovis to Community Regional Medical Center. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries a short while later.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the 23-year-old male Dodge driver to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, the identity of the deceased woman remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from her next of kin. Fresno Officials continue to investigate the fatal Highway 168 two-vehicle crash.
