2 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 80 [Royse City, TX]

Two Pronounced Dead after 18-Wheeler Collision near FM-35
ROYSE CITY, TX (August 30, 2023) – Monday morning, two people lost their lives in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 80.
The accident took place on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near FM-35 shortly before 8:30 a.m., on August 7th.
According to Texas State Patrol, the driver of an 18-wheeler driver was heading westbound when for unknown reasons, he swerved onto the eastbound lanes and struck three cars.
Upon impact, one of the cars bursted into flames. As a result, two victims inside the burning vehicle died at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.
In addition, paramedics treated three others for unspecified injuries.
Police closed the area between FM-35 and FM-2642 for clean-up operations and re-opened around 3:15 p.m. At this time, an active investigation to determine more information is still currently underway.
