Two-Vehicle Collision near Whitendale Avenue Resulted in Multiple Injuries

VISALIA, CA (August 23, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a traffic crash including a city bus on Court Street left at least four people hospitalized. 

Officers received reports of the incident around 2:45 p.m. in the area of Court St. and Whitendale Avenue. 

According to the police, a driver lost control of their car for unknown reasons and ended up hitting the bus. 

Responding emergency personnel transported four occupants of the car to a hospital for injuries. One of the four patients remained hospitalized in critical condition, according to the police. 

Meanwhile, the bus driver, who was the only person on the bus at the time, did not sustain injuries. In the end, authorities closed Court Street between Whitendale Avenue and Beech Avenue as crews cleared out the scene. The roadway was opened a short time later.
