Driver Sought Following Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Stockton Boulevard

SACRAMENTO, CA (August 17, 2023) – Saturday evening, a hit-and-run crash on Florin Road claimed the life of Ivan Bruyako.

The fatal collision occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Florin Rd. just west of Stockton Road in the neighborhood of Florin. 

Responding CHP officers believed that a driver on an unidentified vehicle hit the man and fled the scene without rendering aid. No description of the vehicle has been given at this time.

According to the report, paramedics transported the male pedestrian to a hospital for major injuries. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries a short while later. 

Later, the Sacramento County coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 37-year-old Ivan Bruyako of Sacramento. 

Authorities closed the two left-turn lanes of eastbound Florin Road to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. A follow-up investigation will be conducted by the Sacramento Police due to a lack of physical evidence.
