Vehicle Collision on South Woodman Street Left Two Passengers Dead

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 7, 2023) – Tuesday evening, a two-car crash on South Woodman Street left two people dead.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m., August 1st, involving two vehicles with multiple occupants.

According to SDPD Sergeant K. Gibson, a 2007 Honda Civic driven by a 24-year-old man and a 2006 Kia Sedona driven by a 56-year-old man were involved in the collision.

Upon investigation, Sergeant Gibson stated that the Honda was headed southbound and the Kia was traveling northbound.

Furthermore, the Kia tried to turn left to the westbound lanes onto Jamie Avenue without the right of way.

As a result, the Kia collided with the Honda.

Moreover, Sergeant Gibson stated the passengers were not wearing any seatbelts during that time.

Unfortunately, the officer pronounced the passenger dead at the scene. Responders rushed one other passenger to the hospital with extreme injuries.

Consequently, the police have yet to disclose the identities of the deceased, pending family notification.

Meanwhile, all other occupants of both vehicles suffered minor injuries, and responding paramedics treated them.
