Motorcycle-Auto Collision near Coronado Cays Boulevard Left One Fatality

CORONADO, CA (August 3, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a motorcycle crash on Silver Strand claimed the life of one person.

Initially, an officer spotted a speeding motorcyclist shortly before 7:00 a.m. along northbound State Route 75. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the rider failed to yield and fled the area. 

Afterward, the rider crossed the Coronado Cays intersection and collided with another vehicle. The pursuing traffic officer immediately requested medical assistance. 

Tragically, the rider died at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of the officer. Authorities have not released the motorcyclist’s identity to the public. 

The driver of the involved vehicle did not sustain injuries, according to the report. 

At this time, the police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
