Woman Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Watt Avenue [Sacramento, CA]
Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Interstate 80
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 28, 2023) – Wednesday night, a woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Watt Avenue.
First responders arrived to the scene around 9:05 p.m., at the 400 block of just north of Interstate 80.
Investigators say the driver of a speeding black 2011 Lexus sedan struck a woman who was attempting to cross the street. Upon impact, the driver immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.
Paramedics arrived and transported the severely injured woman to a nearby hospital where she eventually succumbed to her injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.
Following preliminary duties, officers say the license plate of the involved vehicle is 9ELX700.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal pedestrian accident on Watt Avenue.
