Woman Dead, Man Injured in Pedestrian Accident near Glenrosa Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (July 19, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Tyretta Yazzie lost her life in a pedestrian crash near 51st Avenue.

The incident happened on July 11th, at around 4:45 a.m., near the intersection of 51st Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue.

According to reports, Yazzie and another pedestrian were attempting to cross the 51st Avenue mid-block when a car struck them. The impact of the collision caused Yazzie to sustain serious injuries and the other pedestrian to sustain minor injuries.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after. They then transported Yazzie to a local hospital for treatment. There, officials pronounced 41-year-old Tyretta Yazzie dead due to the extent of her injuries.

Following the crash, the involved driver pulled over and cooperated with authorities.
