Fatal Car Accident on Palendale Avenue Left 1 Injured
MODESTO, CA (July 19, 2023) – On Thursday evening, a fatal car crash on Highway 99 in Modesto, left one dead and another injured.
The accident happened around 11:45 p.m., on Highway 99 south of Palendale Ave.
According to the reporters, the accident involved three cars and took place on the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Palendale Ave. exit.
The victim made an unsafe lane change from the #3 lane to the #4 lane, where a Volvo SUV was present.
The driver of the Volvo lost control of her vehicle and went off the freeway, sustaining minor injuries. The man initially attempted to leave the crash scene but his car became disabled.
He then exited the car and walked onto the #3 lane, where he was hit by a pickup truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Volvo was taken to a medical center with minor injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
Investigators state that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the collision.
