Driver Arrested after Colliding with Patrol Vehicle at Cannon Lane
PETALUMA, CA (July 13, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a Sonoma Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized following a DUI crash on Lakeville Highway.
The collision happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on the Lakeville Highway near Cannon Lane.
According to reports, a deputy was attempting to pull over another vehicle on the highway when the suspect rear-ended their patrol car.
Several authorities including the CHP, Petaluma Police Department, and Sonoma County Fire District responded to the scene.
Following the collision, paramedics transported the deputy and the two other drivers to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
Additionally, the CHP determined that the driver who rear-ended the deputy was driving while intoxicated and was now arrested.
