Rollover Accident on Old Redwood Highway Left One Woman Killed, One Hurt

HEALDSBURG, CA (July 13, 2023) – Friday evening, one woman died following a rollover accident on Highway 101.

The incident happened on July 7th, just before 7:30, in the southbound lanes of the highway, just south of Old Redwood Highway.

According to the CHP, a Toyota Camry driven by a woman with a female passenger was involved in the accident.

Investigation showed that the driver of the Camry lost control of the vehicle causing it to travel off towards the center median.

Furthermore, the driver attempted to drive back to the lane where she crossed over to the opposite lane.

Consequently, the Camry overturned and the two occupants were ejected due to not wearing a seatbelt.

Unfortunately, the driver died at the scene responding authorities and the passenger suffered serious injuries.

Moreover, other motorists tried to assist until the authorities arrived. The authorities transported the passenger to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major wounds.

Meanwhile, the authorities blocked the right southbound lanes just north of Arata Lane for several hours.

No additional information was added by the police and any witnesses are urged to call the Santa Rosa CHP at 707-588-1400.
