Two Killed and Two Others Hospitalized After Fiery Car Collision near Mile Marker 39

HAWTHORNE, NV (July 5, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, two unidentified individuals lost their lives in a multi-vehicle crash on US 95.

The accident happened around 4:43 p.m. on July 3rd near mile marker 39.

According to the NSP, a passenger vehicle traveling south on US Highway 95 slowed for an emergency vehicle when it was hit from behind by a commercial vehicle.

As a result, the commercial vehicle veered into the northbound lane, colliding with a vehicle traveling north on US 95.

The commercial vehicle then proceeded to drive off the road, overturned, and burst into flames.

Two people died as a result of their injuries. While medics transported two others with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

At this time, authorities withheld the names of the victims pending notification of family members.

Hawthorne police authorities are now working to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash on US 95.
