Seven-Vehicle Collision Near Carson Street Left 54-Year-Old Man Dead
LAKEWOOD, CA (July 5, 2023) – Sunday evening, Kelly Drake was fatally injured in a multi-traffic pile-up on 605 Freeway.
The deadly incident occurred around 8:14 p.m. along the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Carson Street.
According to a news source, an initial two-vehicle crash at the Carson Street off-ramp triggered a chain-reaction collision. In total, the wreckage involved seven vehicles.
Responding emergency personnel transported two people to a hospital for immediate treatment.
Unfortunately, one of the patients succumbed to their injuries the following day. The Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased victim as 54-year-old Kelly Drake of Westminster.
Lakewood Officials closed the southbound lanes of 605 Freeway as crews investigated and cleared the scene.
