Nicholas Gordon Arrested After DUI Accident Left Woman Dead on Melrose Drive

VISTA, CA (July 5, 2023) – On Saturday evening, Nicholas Gordon was arrested after a DUI crash on State Route 78 that left one woman dead.

The incident happened on July 2nd at around 9:30 p.m. on State Route 78 near west of Melrose Drive.

According to reports, a 22-year-old guy from Vista was driving a white Toyota Corolla in the far right westbound lane of SR-78 when he was approached from behind by a white Kia Spectra.

The Toyota Corolla crashed with the Kia Spectra, which was being driven by an unidentified female from Oceanside.

Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable, pending notification from the next of kin.

A large portion of the freeway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since been reopened.

Nicholas Gordon was arrested on felony accusations of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and negligent murder by an automobile while drunk.
