Hit-and-Run Collision near Decatur Street Resulted in Major Injuries
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 11, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a hit-and-run collision on Chester Avenue left two people seriously injured.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision happened on June 24th, at around 12:15 a.m. on North Chester Avenue, between Lincoln and Ferguson.
Investigators said that a lifted black Chevrolet pickup truck hit the two pedestrians crossing Chester within the no.1 lane, north of Decatur Street.
The impact of the collision sent the two victims along the roadway. However, the driver did not stop and continued driving west on Washington Street.
Responding medical personnel eventually arrived and transported the two pedestrians to a local hospital with significant injuries.
