3 Students Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on North Cawston Avenue [Hemet, CA]
Three Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Collision near Highway 74
HEMET, CA (July 13, 2023) – Friday afternoon, three students sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident on North Cawston Avenue.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 12:30 p.m., near Highway 74 on June 9th.
Per reports, the driver of a white Toyota Camry struck a Hemet Unified School District bus while approaching the highway. Upon impact, the driver of the Toyota fled the scene without contacting authorities.
Following preliminary duties, officers say the suspect was fleeing from another collision in a parking lot on Florida Avenue at the time.
Medical personnel arrived and transported three students from inside the bus to a regional trauma center for further treatment. Although, police have not yet released their identities.
The school bus also received moderate damage upon impact, according to the fire captain.
