Double Pickup Truck Collision near Road 208 Left 41-Year-Old Man Dead

PORTERVILLE, CA (June 7, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Michael Betzinger was hospitalized following a fatal pickup truck collision on Avenue 184. 

CHP officers and medical personnel responded to the crash around 3:57 p.m. in the area of Avenue 184 and Road 208.

Upon arrival, authorities learned that a westbound gray 2002 Ford F150 failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling on Avenue 184 at an unknown rate of speed. 

Consequently, the Ford crashed into a white 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup going north on Road 208. Investigators said both vehicles received significant damages. 

Responding paramedics transported the two drivers to Sierra Vie Medical Center in Porterville via ground ambulance. Unfortunately, the 41-year-old male Ford driver died at the hospital a short while after. 

Authorities identified the injured Dodge driver as 65-year-old Michael Betzinger of Visalia. 

At this time, the California Highway Patrol is determining whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the fatal incident.
