1 Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 10 [Buckeye, AZ]
Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving a Semi-Truck Resulted in One Fatality
BUCKEYE, AZ (May 4, 2023) – Monday afternoon, police were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10.
The incident happened on April 24th at around 5:00 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near milepost 103 and Hassayampa Road.
According to the Arizona DPS, the collision involved seven vehicles including two semi-trucks where one of them continued to drive in a construction zone and caused a chain reaction.
Furthermore, the investigation showed that one of the semi-truck was pulling a flatbed when it performed a jackknifing across the eastbound lanes.
Unfortunately, the driver of the semi that continued through the construction zone was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not yet released.
Also, three other people suffered injuries including one teenager who was airlifted and was listed in critical condition.
Consequently, the deputies and crews blocked all lanes in the eastbound of I-10 for clearing duties and investigation.
Following the closure, the road was reopened after a few hours.
No additional information was added and the crash is still under investigation.
Sincere sympathies to the family and friends of the victim. Our thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.
