Andrew Martinez Killed in 2-Car Accident on Pantano Parkway [Tucson, AZ]
62-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near East Gold Links Road
TUCSON, AZ (April 24, 2023) – Monday afternoon, Andrew Martinez was killed in a 2-car accident on Pantano Parkway.
The incident occurred just after 2:00 p.m., near East Gold Links Road on April 17th.
Officers say a white 2016 Isuzu NRR flat bed truck was stopped at a red light in the left turn lane. There, the driver of a blue 1999 GMC Sonoma rear-ended it.
Medics arrived and transported the Sonoma driver, 62-year-old Martinez, to a nearby hospital where he later died. In addition, paramedics took the Isuzi driver to a hospital with minor injuries.
Officers stated that failure to reduce and control speed was a major contributing factor of the incident. At this time, there was no arrests or citations made.
