Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on James Road [Fresno County, CA]
Pickup Versus Service Truck Collision Near Manning Avenue Kills Passenger
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 20, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a man died in a two-vehicle crash involving a service truck on James Road.
The fatality occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of James Road and Manning Avenue.
Based on the investigation, the northbound service truck on James Road approached the intersection stop sign.
However, the service truck did not stop for an unknown reason and collided with a pickup truck going west on Manning Avenue.
Subsequently, the pickup truck was sent into an open dirt field. Responding emergency personnel said the man in the passenger seat of the pickup died at the scene.
Authorities only identified the deceased victim as a man in his mid-40s.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the pickup driver to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
Police said the service truck driver was not injured, although, he could face charges, according to the CHP.
Fresno County Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the James Road two-vehicle crash.
