Officer Baldemar Sandoval Killed in Rear-End Crash on 210 Freeway [Glendora, CA]
Traffic Collision Involving Semi Truck near Grand Avenue Left One Off-Duty Officer Dead
GLENDORA, CA (April 18, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a rear-end collision along 210 Freeway claimed the life of Officer Baldemar Sandoval.
The fatal crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of 210, near Grand Avenue in Glendora.
According to the CHP, a 2019 Freightliner driver stopped in the number 3 lane due to a collision investigation ahead. However, the big rig became disabled once the lanes started reopening.
News footage revealed that a 2018 Honda collided with the back of the big rig for unknown reasons. Unfortunately, the sole occupant of the Honda sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old big rig driver from Highland received minor injuries from the collision.
Later, the authorities identified the deceased driver as 38-year-old Baldemar Sandoval of Rancho Cucamonga. LAPD Chief Michel Moore claimed that Officer Sandoval was on his way home at the time of the incident.
The Los Angeles County Officials continue to investigate the fatal 210 Freeway rear-end crash.
