Two Pronounced Dead after Chain-Reaction Collision near Flower Avenue

FULLERTON, CA (April 12, 2023) – Sunday, Bryan Tacadena Talladena and Antonia Mendez Ruiz were killed in a motorcycle crash on Magnolia Avenue. 

The incident occurred around 9:20 a.m., near Flower Avenue.

According to reports, a gray Audi sedan and a white Yamaha R6 motorcycle were traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound Magnolia Avenue. For reasons under investigation, both the Audi and the motorcycle struck a Toyota Sienna that was turning east onto Flower Avenue.

Investigators said the rider hit the rear passenger side of the van while the Audi struck the front passenger side. Upon impact, the Audi veered off the roadway and hit a bicyclist and an elderly female pedestrian. 

Medics arrived and transported the rider, 35-year-old Talladena, to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, crews pronounced 68-year-old Ruiz dead at the scene.

In addition, paramedics transported the male bicyclist in his 30s to a nearby hospital for further treatment of moderate injuries. The 74-year-old Sienna driver and his 15-year-old passengers were also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The driver of the Audi also complained of pain from the incident. Additionally, police said the vehicles struck a telephone pole and ruptured a gas line, requiring excavations.
