Motorcycle Versus SUV Crash at Point Sur Left Miranda Man Dead
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (April 11, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Benjamin F Scileppui was involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 1.
At about 6:12 a.m., a motorcyclist in a Harley Davidson headed south on Highway 1 to Naval Facility at Point Sur.
Simultaneously, a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 turned left towards northbound Hwy 1, colliding with the rider.
Responding medical personnel declared the male motorcyclist from Miranda dead at the scene. At this time, his name has not been released, pending notification from next of kin.
Authorities identified the GMC driver as 53-year-old Benjamin F Scileppui of Eagle Point, Oregon.
The California Highway Patrol Monterey Office will lead the investigation. Police stated that they do not suspect alcohol and drugs to be a factor in the motorcycle crash.
