SUV-Motorcycle Collision near Gooseberry Lane Kills 59-Year-Old Fresno Motorcyclist
FRESNO, CA (April 3, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a motorcycle crash on Highway 168 claimed the life of Daljit Gill.
The fatal incident happened around 2:30 p.m. near Gooseberry Lane, south of Prather.
According to the CHP, the 2007 Ducati sports bike rider traveled east on Highway 168 and lost control upon entering a curve.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist veered into the side of the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2004 Toyota 4Runner.
Authorities said the 16-year-old girl driving the 4Runner wasn’t able to avoid the motorcycle on time.
Unfortunately, the first responders declared the rider dead at the scene. On Monday, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased rider as 59-year-old Daljit Gill of Fresno.
The driver of the Toyota did not sustain any injuries. Police said the alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the incident.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but have since been reopened.
Fresno Officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal motorcycle crash.
