Pedestrian Killed in Auto Collision near Main Street
CHULA VISTA, CA (March 29, 2023) – Thursday morning, a pedestrian accident on Interstate 5 claimed the life of a male pedestrian.
The incident happened on March 23rd, at around 3:04 p.m., along northbound Interstate 5, north of Main Street.
According to reports, a vehicle struck a pedestrian walking in the traffic lanes for unknown reasons. Subsequently, the victim was struck by additional vehicles, leaving them with major injuries.
The initial involved driver pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway and called emergency responders.
First responders to the site of the collision declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. The name of the deceased victim remains undisclosed.
Chula Vista Officials said that drugs and alcohol are not a factor in the incident.
At this time, the CHP San Diego area office continues to investigate the Interstate 5 pedestrian accident.
