Hit-and-Run Driver Near 26th Avenue Fatally Injures 52-Year-Old Glendale Man
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 21, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a hit-and-run crash on Franklin Boulevard claimed the life of Richard Cortez.
Officers responded to the incident around 6:00 a.m. near Franklin Boulevard and 26th Avenue in South Sacramento.
Upon arrival, they located the man suffering from serious injuries. However, the driver was not spotted at the scene.
Eventually, medical personnel arrived and transported the man to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Later, the Sacramento County coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as Richard Cortez.
In the end, officials closed Franklin Boulevard between 26th and 27th Avenue to conduct an investigation and preform cleanup duties.
