Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Interstate 280
SAN JOSE, CA (March 20, 2023) – Wednesday morning, one man was pronounced dead after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 87.
Police responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m., near Interstate 280.
According to reports, a man was seen walking across the lanes of the freeway. Eventually, the driver of a passing vehicle struck the male pedestrian and immediately fled the scene.
Due to the extent of his condition, first responders pronounced the male pedestrian dead dead at the scene. However, authorities have not yet released his identity.
Emergency crews closed the southbound lanes of the highway during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
