40-Year-Old Mother and 7-Year-Old Son Struck by Vehicle near Redwood Road
CASTRO VALLEY, CA (February 17, 2023) – Monday morning, two people were struck and injured in a pedestrian crash on Proctor Road.
The crash happened at about 7:50 a.m., February 6th, just west of Redwood Road.
According to the deputies, a 40-year-old mother and her 7-year-old son were on their way to Proctor Elementary School when the incident occurred.
Investigation showed that an Infinity QX60 driven by a 38-year-old female driver was traveling east on Proctor Road when she made a turn and collided with the pedestrians.
Furthermore, both the mother and the child suffered severe wounds and were both transported immediately to the hospital for further treatment.
The authorities confirmed that both of them are recovering and with their family.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Alcohol or drugs does not seem to be a factor in the incident. An active investigation is still underway.
